Everybody’s Talking About Corporate Sponsorship

The team here at MK is a diverse one, to say the least. Interests at MK HQ range from running marathons, to gardening, to the smell of cleaning products (as confessed by our Office Director Sarah), to enjoying nothing more than the feel of the house lights going down when taking a trip to the theatre. So when it came to how we wanted to support a local business through partnership, it’s safe to say everyone had their own ideas to bring to the table about what exactly that should be.

However, back in 2016 MK Client Meadowhall Shopping Centre became a Corporate Partner for Sheffield Theatres, a partnership that would see children in the S9 area of Sheffield – where engagement with the arts is the lowest in Sheffield – getting the chance to experience live theatre for the very first time through a range of events in-centre, gifting of tickets and interactive activities in school… This project saw MK team members who work on the Meadowhall account undertaking a range of bonkers and brilliant activities, such as bringing an elephant sized puppet called Oona in-centre to meet local children and hosting dog auditions on its summer beach (watch this space).

As a result of this, the MK team decided to become a Corporate Member of Sheffield Theatres for 2017 which enables us to catch the latest shows at the Crucible Theatre (such as Julius Caesar and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), invitations to press nights at both theatres, ticket discounts and plenty of inside info into life at one of Yorkshire’s favourite and most-loved theatre groups.

We love supporting local charities, and the Sheffield Theatres trust seemed an obvious one to choose as they continue to reach out to young people across the city region, and help them in developing new and emerging talent within the performing arts arena. More people than every are able to enjoy ground breaking theatre – both old and new – on the Sheffield Theatres’ stages, and it’s down to the support from the local businesses and corporates that it’s all made possible.
