Absolute Solar And Wind: Glenskinno Farm – Glenskinno Biofuels

Campaign: Glenskinno Biofuels

Client: Absolute

Timeline: September 2014

Absolute is a Glasgow based renewables company born from the ambition of brothers Mark and Richard Newall to make the world a greener, more economic place.
Absolute has been established since 2007, and during that time has worked on some of the largest and most effective installations across Scotland and the North of England, specialising in solar PV, wind, biomass and destratification systems.
On September 13, Glenskinno Farm – based near Montrose, and owned by the Gall family –officially launched Glenskinno Biofuels; inviting agricultural and rural business owners across Scotland and the North of England to their renewables hub.

Visitors attending the launch day were given the opportunity to see the types of technology introduced, including the unveiling of a 1mW biomass powered drying facility – a popular feature amongst visitors which is thought to be the largest chip drying facility in the region.

The Absolute team enlisted MK to support for the 2014 event with a brief to manage the logistics of pre and post-event PR.

Responding to the brief, MK PR set to work designing invitations for journalists and business owners, creating pre and post event launch press releases, and managing press at the event.

The releases produced quoted the Managing Director at Absolute, Mark Newall and Iain Gall, of Glenskinno Farm and ensured that relevant key messages remained the focus of all communication.

Results:

Over 60 agricultural and rural business owners from across Scotland and the north of England attended the sites first open day along with photographers and journalists from local and national media.

Coverage was achieved in more than 10 online and print media outlets – including key target publications such as The Scottish Farmer, News for Scotland and regional paper- The Montrose Review.

And most importantly, as a result Absolute has had a stream of inquiries about the services and systems that they offer from agricultural businesses and landowners, and this is as a direct result of the effective showcasing of the innovative renewables hub.
