Case Study – NEBRC: launch and marketing programme

Overview:

MK was approached to support the launch for the North East Business Resilience Centre (NEBRC) in early 2020.

A unique partnership between the police, private sector and academia, the NEBRC was launched to help businesses within the region fight against cybercrime and online fraud.

Indeed, it is estimated that highly organised online criminal industry activity costs UK businesses a staggering £27bn a year, exacerbated by the recent pandemic and a heavier reliance on IT and technology.

MK Brief:

Hampered by the lockdown restrictions in early 2020 MK, as part of the NCG, worked quickly to convert the planned opening events to online, hosting webinars and forums for attendees and wider interested parties.

Forming part of the network of Centres operating across the UK, the NEBRC brings together all seven of the Yorkshire and North East’s police forces alongside Sheffield Hallam University, Northumbria University, and private sector cybercrime experts to offer exclusive access to the latest information on legislation, criminal trends, threats, and new technology.

MK works to build awareness and understanding of the Centre and communicate key news, updates and guidance to members and prospective members helping businesses from any sector to prepare for and prevent future cyber threats.

This ongoing stakeholder engagement work is underpinned by a comprehensive marketing strategy supported by a press relations and social / digital programme.

Now, more than ever, it is important to take action to help guard against cyber crime and fraud.

We’re proud to be part of the team, and it wouldn’t be fitting to end in any other way than highlight that NEBRC has a wealth of free resources and ‘trusted partners’ to help businesses of any size, across any sector, with cyber related issues.

Cyber security does not necessarily need to be costly.

Free core membership to NEBRC will help to strengthen your businesses resilience and may help to save the potential cost of an online criminal attack.
